A Scottish Sexual Health Strategy and Action Plan ‘Respect and Responsibility‘ was released by the Scottish Government in January 2005. The strategy is respectful of children’s rights and religious, cultural and sexual diversity, and acknowledges the importance of parental and personal responsibility.
This and the parallel strategy, Improving Sexual Health In Grampian – an interagency strategy, (which complements the Grampian Bloodborne Virus Strategy), are set against a background of increasing sexually transmitted infections and high rates of teenage pregnancy.
