Useful Data for Tobacco Control

ScotPHO Online Profiles Tool (OPT)

The Scottish Public Health Observatory (ScotPHO)  has now developed the ScotPHO Online Profiles Tool (ScotPHO OPT). Designed to replace the previous reports, the tool allows users to view the various different profiles produced by the ScotPHO collaboration. These include:

  • Tobacco Control Profiles
  • Health and Wellbeing Profiles

Scotland’s People – 2014 Survey Results

From The Scottish Household Survey, these include data about:

  • Whether respondents smokes by year
  • Percentage of respondents who smoke by age and gender
  • Percentage of respondents who smoke by economic status Percentage of respondents who smoke by Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation
  • Self perception of health by smoking status Households where someone in the household has a long-standing limiting illness, health problem or disability by household type
  • Households containing anyone with a long-standing limiting illness, health problem or disability by net annual household income
  • Households containing anyone with a long-standing limiting illness, health problem or disability by tenure
  • Household members with a long-standing limiting illness, health problem or disability by age and gender
  • Those households containing someone who needs regular help or care by household type
  • Whether anyone in the household needs regular help or care by net annual household income
  • Whether anyone in the household needs regular help or care by tenure
  • Self perception of health by gender and age Self perception of health by net annual household household income
  • Self perception of health by Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation
  • Self perception of health by smoking, illness or disability and whether as done physical activity in the past four weeks

SALSUS

The SALSUS 2013 report is now available. This report describes in detail patterns of smoking, drinking and drug use in young people (aged 13 and 15) Scotland.

Smoking Cessation HEAT Target 2011-2014

  • This report explores patterns in smoking cessation service data from June 2011 to May 2012.
