The NHS Grampian Smoking Advice Service (SAS) offers up to 12 weeks of support tailored to the needs of the smoker, delivered by a smoking cessation advisor of which there are 8 across Grampian based in the community as well as Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Dr Grays Hospital in Elgin. SAS advisors are not prescribers however they can give patients a voucher for them to take to their GP. This voucher will have a recommendation as to which form of stop smoking medication is best for them so that they can be given this free on prescription. There is also a Smoking Cessation Specialist working within Cornhill Hospital.
