Making Every Opportunity Count
These two videos demonstrate the simplicity and flexibility of Making every Opportunity Count to enable people to live as well as they can. (Please click on the vedios link below).
In each setting, a health related conversation and signposting or referral is integrated into routine service provision.
In the first example, at the end of the conversation, the nurse advises the patient to consider seeing his GP. We would encourage patients, in the first instance, to think about what we had discussed and the opportunities the patient could take to help reduce the amount of alcohol s/he is consuming. “Your WELLBEING” information helps you to signpost the person to relevant action s/he can take first.
