People with a learning disability have greater health needs than the general population and their needs are often unrecognised, unmet and complex. Therefore a person with a learning disability is likely to access any part of NHS Grampian for care and treatment.
This area contains information and guidance to support all health care professionals to provide an inclusive and co-ordinated approach when caring for and treating people with learning disabilities.
An accessible version of NHS Grampian's Health Plan 2010-13 is available here.
Health Promotion topic leaflets have been created in an accessible format:
These resources are available to order from the Health Information Resources Service through their online catalogue.
A separate leaflet discussing Going to the Dentist is also available. Further accessible information, including recipes, are available on NHS Grampian's website.

Asthma UK have created accessible versions of their materials aimed at people with learning disabilities. For more information and to view materials click here.

www.easyhealth.org.uk also provides downloadable health information for those with learning disabilities.
