About HI-Net

HI-Net (Grampian Health Improvement Network) is an interactive, web-based communication tool and virtual network for those who are pushing forward the health improvement agenda in Grampian.  The need for HI-Net has come about due to the increasing emphasis at both national and local level, on concerted and consistent effort from a range of staff working across professional boundaries to achieve success with targets for health improvement. HI-Net provides a focal point for health improvement activity in Grampian, and organisations involved are NHS Grampian, the local authorities, educational establishments, the voluntary sector and any other interested individual, group or organisation.

HI-Net is aimed at professionals and those with an interest in health improvement.  You don't have to be a registered member to use HI-Net, as the majority of the information held on HI-Net is freely available.  Some information is restricted to registered members and some smaller groups of registered members who use HI-Net for group comminucation and storage of documents.  Access to some features such as discussion fora, the members list, and the ability to contribute your own information to the site is restricted. 

So registering with HI-Net is beneficial and allows you to:

• Comment on consultation documents
• Promote your work and share your knowledge with others
• Promote conferences, workshops and training events in your area
• Contribute to on-line discussions
• Use HI-Net as a convenient, central store of health improvement information in Grampian aimed at professionals
• Access HI-Net from any location (work, home, college) whether a registered member or not
• Become part of the network and will be kept up to date with current health improvement information
• Contribute your own information (documents, events, news and weblinks) to HI-Net to share with others
• Use HI-Net as a communication tool for you and your group, with a private Discussion Forum area and protected group documents
• Make contact with other professionals who have registered

Only those with a valid interest in health improvement, who belong to the NHS or its partner organisations will be able to register with HI-Net, and we operate a registration process to keep the site professionally focused.
