Since April 2004, the allocation of the Health Improvement Fund which was previously allocated from the Health Board to the Local Health Care Co-ops, has been allocated to the City's Community Health Partnership (CHP) to oversee and disburse.
The CHP made the decision to devolve the responsibility of use of this fund to the city's Public Health Forum and the HIF Steering Group was established as a sub group of the Public Health Forum to undertake the practical aspects of the utilisation of the Fund and to develop clear criteria for funding submissions and to agree monitoring processes and outcomes.
