Search Help
There are 5 Search facilities on the HI-Net website
1. Site Search by Keyword(s)
2. Show Me Information About, which gives a quick link to key topics.
3. Document Library Search, which searches the documents, held on the website.
4. Useful Links Search, which searches the weblinks section
5. News and Events, which searches the News and Events
This is located at the top right of the homepage.
In the search box, type keywords of the subject topic or words from the title of a document. A search will be carried out on the whole site.
The search results will show all topic pages, weblink pages, titles of documents, news or events relating to your keyword(s).
Search results also offers a drop down on 4 main categories to refine your search as follows:
Key word(s)
- Topic, Sub Topic
- Group of interest to
- Type of document
- Type of Content: Documents, Links, News, Events
2. Show Me Information About ...
This drop down menu of key topics is located on the top right of the site homepage. This allows a quick link to information on key topics.
The search results will show all topic pages, weblink pages, titles of documents, news or events relating to your Topic.
This results page offers a drop down on 4 main categories to refine your search as above for the site search.
This search facility is situated in the Document Library within Information Resources.
This searches the Document Library and allows you to search by a variety of methods using the drop down search categories.
As in the site search you can search by keywords, and by topic and sub topic. You can also search by groups that the information may be of interest to and by the type of document.
Search results are displayed alphabetically by 'Title of Document' with a descriptive summary. Click on the title and the document will open in new window.
The Useful Links section is located within the Information Resources section. Click on Useful Links and then click 'Search for Links' on the left side menu. A quick search box on keywords or topic word will bring up a link to topic pages of weblinks
Again the site search box is available on the search results page for wider searching of information.
These sections are accessed from the News and Events section on the top of the homepage.
Click News, and then click on Search for News on left side menu.
Click Events, and then click on Search for Events on left side menu.
A quick search for both these sections appear on the home pages of each as the Useful Links Search above.
A quick search by keywords or topic word will bring up links to News or Events on your selection.
